How to Set Up Google Analytics 2019
February 21, 2019Google Ads: Why Do You Need It And How To Start Google Ad Campaign
April 6, 2019Very often Google Ads users seek help or support from a consultant or pay per click (ppc) agency. In order for the consultant/agency to start working with you, and be successful, they need to have an access to your account. Below we will walk you step-by-step through the simple process of giving access to Google Ads manager account, which you can set up on a permanent or temporary basis.
There are two ways you can give access to your Google Ads account:
- Adding a user
- Linking your account to consultant/colleague/agency’ My Client Center (MCC) account.
Unquestionably we recommend linking as the way to grant access to your account to outside organization/person. This is not makes process of managing accounts easier for the agency, but it also makes granting access so much safer for you!
Another way to protect your account is to set up 2-step verification for your Google account. This means that whenever someone attempts to login in via new devise or browser, you receive a Verification code that needs to be entered. If you set up this verification, you’ll need your Google Ads consultant know the verification code the first time they log in.
How to grant access:
- First Log into Google Ads here:
- Once logged in, look at the 10 digit Google Ads account number in the top right corner. This is what it looks like on my screen:
- Email this number to your consultant/agency. For our example, the number in this example is 339-195-8174
Once they have the number, they will log into their Google Manager account.
When I did that using emailed link, I got the following screenshot, and then clicked on + Icon.
- Wait for consultant to request access.
countAfter the consultant adds this number, and submit it, request for access will be sent to you. This will generate an email from Google that looks like the one below.
Hello from Google,
kashmanager99@gmail.com has asked for your permission to link your Ads account (Customer ID: 339-195-8174) to their manager account.
If you accept, Manager Account (837-126-9609) will be able to:
– Actively change and manage all aspects of your Ads account
– Accept Terms and Conditions on your behalf
This manager won’t be able to change your account’s email or password. If you don’t know the above party and think this is an unauthorized attempt to access your Ads account, please decline and you may contact us to report a complaint.
You can accept or decline the request from your Ads or Ads Express account by clicking the gear icon, then selecting “Account settings” from the drop-down menu. Then, select “Account access” and click “Accept invitation” or “Decline.” You can find instructions here:
