How to Setup Google Search Console

How to Setup Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a free tool that provides a wide variety of data about your website. You can use this data to improve your website’s search engine optimization and online visibility.

Consequently, today’s post will explain Google Search Console’s features and how to set up Google Search Console.

Google Search Console’s Features

As mentioned above, Google Search Console provides site owners with a ton of useful data. This data includes

  1. How many people are visiting your website
  2. How many people have seen your website on Google’s Search Engine Results Pages (impressions)
  3. The devices people use to visit your website
  4. Your site’s most popular pages
  5. Your site’s backlinks
  6. Which pages on your site have been indexed by Google

In addition to this data, you can upload an XML site map to Google Search Console. This gives Google a better understanding of your website and page hierarchy.

How to Setup Google Search Console (GSC)

Start by opening GSC and clicking on + Add property

Next, open the control panel for your website. If you aren’t sure what your control panel is, your website host can likely help you access it. Once you’ve opened the control panel go to your “Files” tab.
